Meet Riho, Founder of Little Zen House

Little Zen House began with one simple wish - to create a place where every pet feels truly at home.

The idea was born from my own experience with my dog, Dora, who loves her quiet moments and prefers familiar, calm spaces. I often struggled to find boarding options that felt attentive, relaxed, and caring enough for her.

While living in Japan, I found an incredible caretaker who gave Dora the same understanding and comfort I wanted for her. That experience stayed with me and inspired me to bring that level of mindful, loving care to pets here in California.

I’ve been surrounded by animals all my life. Growing up, I spent more time reading about dogs and cats or playing with neighborhood pets than doing homework. Caring for animals became a natural part of who I am, and over the years, I’ve learned how to tune into each animal’s personality, needs, and rhythms.

At Little Zen House, I combine my deep love for animals with the calm, centered values I grew up with, shaped by Japanese tea ceremony and the idea of creating peace in every space.

My goal is simple: to give your pets the same thoughtful, gentle care I give to my own with calm, one-on-one, unrushed attention - rather than volume care.

Little Zen House is especially suited for pets who thrive in familiar environments, prefer a slower pace, or feel overwhelmed in busy boarding settings.

Little Zen House is a concept for pets to feel safe, understood, and cherished. I’d be honored to care for your pet.
